Achievement
Develop a design for a digital outcome
This involves you: | You can show this by: |
---|---|
defining the purpose and end users for the digital outcome | researching and identifying who will use your digital outcome and what it will be used for Make a list of requirements for the digital outcome (these will be used to judge how successful the design is) Work out what the digital outcome must have and what are optional features |
researching and generating a range of design ideas | create at least three different (complete) initial designs/concepts for your digital outcome |
selecting a chosen design | evaluate your designs/concepts and choose the best one (or combine components from different concepts) to |
describing the appropriateness of that chosen design | explain who you have selected one of your designs/concepts |
describing relevant implications | define a range of relevant implications in terms of how they are generally applied to creating a digital outcome of the type you have chosen. You need to be generic at this point and not relate to your specific design at this stage. You can find more information on relevant implications here. You must choose implications that are relevant to the outcome you are designing. |
Achievement with Merit
develop an informed design for a digital outcome
This involves you: | You can show this by: |
---|---|
using feedback to improve the design | Getting feedback from a range of people. The wider the range of people the better. Don’t just use your friends. Get feedback from people who will use your digital outcome. You could create a survey or questionnaire to gather feedback or carry out observations. |
explaining how the design meets relevant implications | Explain how your design addresses / takes into account the different implications by either minimising any negative impacts, addressing legal or ethical issues or maximising positive impacts of the implications. |
Achievement with Excellence
Develop an effective design for a digital outcome
This involves you: | You can show this by: |
---|---|
justifying, with evidence, that the chosen design is suitable for the purpose and end users. | Identifying the strengths and weaknesses of your design in all areas. Compare your design to the initial purpose and requirements that the end users set out. Evaluate how well your design meets these requirements Draw a conclusion |
