3D Modelling

3D modelling is the process of using digital tools to create digital 3d representations of objects. These could be models of real world objects or objects to be used entirely in a virtual environment such as a game.

Basic (Level 1)

  • polygon
  • hard surface modelling
  • basic materials
  • basic modifiers like subsurf and mirror
  • lighting
  • rendering
  • short animation
  • export as Asset for use elsewhere

Advanced (Level 2)

  • UV Unwrapping and texturing hard surface modelling using blueprints and sketches/concepts/reference images
  • Perhaps simple bones and animations
  • Nodes

Complex (Level 3)

  • Rigging and animating
  • weight painting
  • multires modifier
  • sculpting
  • normal map/heightmap/AO baking
